ENERGIZE LAB Eiliko Aquamarine

I've seen all kinds of little robot and desktop companions for quite a while now and wanted to get one for myself, so I decided to first try out this little Eiliko. With 90 bucks, it's still quite expensive, but I thought to myself it's better to waste 90 bucks if it turns out to be a short-lived joy, rather than 170 for the big desktop Eilik. However, this fear turned out to be baseless. The package he came in was very neat and setting him up was fairly easy too. He comes with a little manual, a charging cable and a keychain you can attach to his head to hang him from your bags when you're on the go. He has several different faces he can make and there are several offline voice commands that result in showing different images on the screen. His voice recognition is very good too. When you download the EnergizeLab app and connect your Eiliko to your wifi, you can talk to him properly (he works similarly to Siri and Alexa in that regard) and he will even tell you about his lore (his home planet, how he got to earth, etc.). I'm seriously considering to get the big Eilik for my desk sometime in the future ^^ The only bummer is that this Eiliko has several interchangeable bodies that impact/change his personality. However, none of the bodies are available through Amazon, as of yet. Still, if you want a cute little robot companion who will react to your pats and voice and who'll talk to you, this little Eiliko is probably the right fit ^^👌🏻

quality wise it's well built and feels good to hold. If only if the quality of the material matched the quality of the actually software of the robot. The robot definitely has some very cute facial expressions and even just idlely it looks cute. But that's all its really got going for it. It only has a few facial expressions to mess around with in offline mode. If you don't say it's name correctly it straight up just won't work voice command wise. I didn't figure out how to say it's name correctly until it told me in "talk to me" mode how to say it right. I was saying "E LEEK" but it actually sounds like "I LICK". Speaking of the online chat mode, it only works when connected to wifi. Would be cool if connected to your phones data so you can talk to it on the go, especially considering this is supposed to be a "portable" companion. The online chatting part isn't even that good in that regard, when it speaks you can barely understand it and it's english is kinda broken when it talks as in the sentence will be kind of messed up. I wanted to test how good the memory was on this thing considering I heard it uses ChatGPT for the online talking mode so I told it my name and then the next day I asked it what my name was. But sadly, it didn't remember and wanted to know it again. I told it again but not even a few minutes later I asked what my name was and it didn't remember already. So it has a memory of a goldfish. Considering that this is supposed to be a "friendship" companion, if it forgets your name so quickly, that kinds of ruins a pretty important part of building a friendship. Besides that it's a cute paperweight to carry around if you want some cute expressions and a chat companion who has dementia.
